about

I love the way the KKB sinks their teeth into a classic bluegrass number! We referenced Bill Monroe's version, of course, and our third verse comes from the original version of the song, titled “Footmarks In the Snow,” and first published in the 1880s by composer Harry Wright. When Mom sang this with her dear friend Louise Heymann, who was the source for this, as well as "Farther Along" and many others in her repertoire, this song somehow included a reference to a quilting bee. - Kathy
