about

This was one I sang with my mom when I started joining her on stage, adding my harmony. When I first came to San Francisco, somehow this was the song I was invited to sing with every bluegrass band. I remember telling somebody that I knew other songs and being told, "No, this is a good one, let's stick with this." Paul Shelasky is one of the people on this album who actually met and played music with my mom, so it's sweet to have him fiddling with Annie here. When Mom came to visit, she got up on stage with the Good Ol' Persons and sang this, along with "Wreck Of The Old Number 9" and "I'll Fly Away." We liked to say we sang all the styles; trainwreck, homewreck, and gospel. What a treat to include my kids on this, as "the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree." - Kathy
